$1 Can Purchase 8 Pounds of Food

Open Arms Mission operates efficiently with labor donated by our friends and partners. In addition, we partner with organizations that supply food and staples free or at wholesale rates, which allows us to leverage monetary donations.

 

By doing this, Open Arms Mission can provide 8 lbs of food to a family in need with each $1 you donate.

Try this, the next time you go to the grocery store:  Weigh your purchases, divide the weight by 8.  Multiply that by $1.00.  Compare this to the total you paid.  You may not purchase the same groceries that we distribute, but this can give you an idea of just how far your donated dollar goes.
