Fill the Milk Jug Program
Milk provides essential nutrients to create strong bodies and minds.
Open Arms Mission is the only food pantry in Lake County to offer fresh milk each week. We are currently providing our neighbors in need with a monthly average of 864 gallons of milk. The goal of the Fill the Milk Jug Program is to cover this cost.
You Can Help
When you see a Fill the Milk Jug with our logo, donate whatever change you have on hand. Know that the money you drop in to the Milk Jugs adds up!! Since we began tracking in October of 2005 through the end of 2010 we have collected $16,941.66. What a gift for our neighborhood children and Seniors!
If you don’t see a Fill the Milk Jug, ask your local retailer if they would be interested in placing one on a checkout counter. If so, call us and we’ll make sure to get a Jug over there. You can also start a Fill the Milk Jug program in your church or office.
Parents: Consider starting a Fill the Milk Jug at home. It’s a great way to teach your children about helping neighbors in need, “neighbor helping neighbor.”
